Sunny summer dresses

Well the good weather seems to be holding out (over a week of sun!) and so many of my customers have been browsing the shop looking for sweet summer dresses. I think that I'm going to have to stock up if the past week is anything to go by... Here's a couple that have just come in and are spreading some summer joy around the place.

Creepily cute

I had to do a quick post about these cute prints - I stumbled across them while trying to find inspiration for a mother's day card. I totally love the kitsch (and am I allowed to say slightly nightmare-ish?!?) flavour of these images created by Hannah - check out the link for lots of similar pics and other goodies that she has crafted.

Hula hula

A bizarre event occurred in Bristol last week - the sun came out for a day! Even though I was working inside, it really felt like spring was finally starting to break through. And of course that led me to daydream about summer holidays... A couple of lovely things came into the shop that really made me wish I could be sashaying across a Hawaiian beach, pina colada in hand and the dulcet tones of a ukulele drifting over the sands...
Better get back to reality - but if you feel the need to re-create your own bit of vintage-inspired Hawaii, this gorgeous top and dress are in the shop now!

Bristol retro flea market

This Sunday 1st March sees the Trinity Centre in Bristol host another of it's great retro flea markets. I love spending a couple of hours mooching around the stalls at these events and always come away with a vintage bargain tucked under my arm. My lovely friend Jamie (of retro club night Gimme Shelter fame) has a stall - absolutely packed full of vintage gems and really worth checking out. As well as selling traditional vintage clothing, she also makes perfectly gorgeous, vintage-inspired pieces. I'll be there bright and early on Sunday - can't wait!

I've got a particular weakness for 1960s jewellery and couldn't resist these beauties when I stumbled across them in a Bristol antique shop recently. Just looking at them really brightens up my day and I just love the way they add a little mod chic to so many outfits!

Welcome to my blog! I L.O.V.E. vintage clothing, and with my own vintage clothes shop up and running, I thought it was about time I embraced the blogging world and put my humble musings down somewhere. There's so many brilliant blogs out there that are amazingly well put together, I'm feeling a bit over-whelmed by the prospect of keeping my own! I'm sure it's going to be a loooong time before I really get the hang of what I am doing but I'm hoping to use this space as somewhere to float ideas, find inspiration and also show off lovely pieces that are in my store - cheeky!
